In 2011, Arab Strap’s harbinger of doom, Aidan Moffat, teamed up with fellow Falkirkian and multi-instrumentalist Bill Wells to produce Everything’s Getting Older. The combination of Moffat’s brutally frank lyrics with Wells’ beautiful, varied arrangements proved utterly sublime, ranging from the seamy shimmy of ‘Glasgow Jubilee’ to the wonderful wallow of ‘The Copper Top’. A deserving winner of the inaugural Scottish Album Of The Year Award.
