Honestly, you wait six years for one Kate Bush album and then two turn up in the same year... Not that we’re complaining, of course. In fact, we’re delighted to have her back and not least because 50 Words For Snow offers up seven brand-spanking new compositions, as opposed to the inventive re-imaginings of classic material that characterised Director’s Cut. With an unlikely roll-call of co-conspirators (including Elton John, her son Bertie and QI’s resident polymath Stephen Fry) and snow as her conceit, Bush’s tenth studio effort is a triumph of idiosyncratic, avant garde pop. We’ll pencil the follow-up in for 2012 shall we Kate?
