7digital What we said: Front men might steal all the headlines but sometimes it’s the supporting cast you should be keeping your eye on. Take Michael Lovett, for example: for a few years he was hiding his light under a bushel, performing bass duties for British indie outfit Your Twenties. Now solo, he’s responsible for some particularly brilliant, glitch-laden, electronic-pop under the pseudonym NZCA/Lines. His eponymous debut was mixed by Metronomy and Simian Mobile Disco-collaborator Ash Workman, and teams an Aaliyah-era Neptunes production style with deliciously wonky synth-sounds and celestial harmonies. Fans of The English Riviera are in for a treat.
