    James Blake

Widely regarded as one of the most innovative producers of the last decade, Goldsmiths alumni James Blake emerged from the haze of late noughties dubstep. Eagerly attending London’s infamous FWD>> club nights, Blake captured the subterranean weight of his dubstep contemporaries Skream and Coki, combining his own haunting vocals with warped R&B glitches to form his own inimitable style. The striking contrast between the weighty, dancefloor-focused R&S release CMYK and his more reserved debut LP, featuring the universally renowned 'Limit to Your Love', demonstrates the breadth of his abilities as both singer-songwriter and electronic producer. Blake has continued to impress with his follow-up, Overgrown, which won the 2013 Mercury Prize. Expect tear-jerking ballads spliced with broken beats and surging synths.

    Girl Band

Flying the flag for local Dublin four-piece Girl Band are set to perform on Saturday's programme. Gaining repute for their sharp, exhilarating bursts of punk - sample 'Lawman' for evidence - the self-produced group are as quirky and playful as their ironic name suggests. With Blur, Nick Cave and LCD Soundsystem all cited as influences, frontman Dara Kiely and the gang work distorted riffs and raucous vocal chants into their own contemporary punk aesthetic. The group’s references are as far reaching as techno - they reworked Blawan's pummelling track 'Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage' into a cut equally as vicious as its original - so you can expect an exhilarating set. Keep your eyes peeled for their debut album Holding Hands with Jamie, which will arrive in September courtesy of Rough Trade and with whom they released their Early Years EP back in March.

    Carl Craig

Representing dance music at this year's event will be Detroit techno legend Carl Craig. Following the birth of the genre pioneered by Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Eddie Fowlkes and Juan Atkins, Craig is considered to be a pivotal figure in the second wave of techno, alongside Jeff Mills and the Underground Resistance posse. In 1996, Craig launched his own imprint Planet E, releasing music from Paul Woolford, as well as fellow Detroit locals Kenny Larkin and Terrence Parker. He is globally recognised for his skills as a DJ and is consistently billed at the top of major electronic music festivals, such as Dimensions in Croatia and Detroit's own Movement festival, where each year crowds gather to watch him in the city centre's Heart Plaza. Carl will play the Friday of Longitude, alongside Todd Terje, SBTRKT and Metronomy.
