TRNSMT Festival 2018

Festival guide

Taking place at Glasgow Green, this year's edition of TRNSMT will take place across two weekends — 29 June - 1 July, then 6 - 8 July. Suffice it to say, both weekends have big line-ups: whether you want classic rock from Queen ft. Adam Lambert, sweaty, souflul beats from IAMDDB, or slick indie from Franz Ferdinand, there's something here for you. Explore the full list of acts here, and check out our picks below:

    Sigrid

If you like sweet, lilting vocals and airy, propulsive beats (à la international hit ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’, which Lorde picked as one of her favourite songs), you’ll want to check out Sigrid. With anthemic songs about heartbreak, friendship and youth, it’s no wonder she’s become Scandi-pop’s current ‘it girl’. Winner of this year's BBC Sound of 2018, you'll want to check this one out.

    Arctic Monkeys

At this point, do the Arctic Monkeys really need an introduction? Arguably the biggest contemporary self-described "rock'n'roll" band, Alex Turner and co. are now six albums deep, and with each they assert their ambition and dominance in whatever they choose to do: indie, pop, hip-hop beats, and now even Nick Cave-esque overly-poetic ruminations on fame. Come see just why these guys are stars.

    J Hus

One of 2017's biggest breakthrough stars, J Hus is bringing that London heat to Glasgow. The Bouff Daddy himself made waves with his debut album Common Sense last year, and his latest EP is straight-up fire too (we recommend you listen to 'Dark Vader' if you haven't yet). If you're looking to party this weekend, you'll want to get to this afrobashment extravaganza.

We’re not the kind of band that you sit down cross-legged to come see live; you’re gonna be up on your feet and feeling the beat.
